Do a little research, and you will come across a ton of advice on various ways to promote your mobile app. Much of the advice is quite valid, although many of the suggestions require significant amounts of time or resources.

Some of the better ideas include participating in app awards contests, submitting your app for a review in hopes the reviewer will feature it as a “best” app in its category, or advertising it on social media or in blogs.

One of the best ways of all, and an approach that surprisingly many app developers overlook, is to advertise it by building a dedicated website, or one that features a great landing page that describes what your app has to offer.

A website approach is not only effective, but it doesn’t require all that much in terms of time or resources. In the example below it costs only $59 and it requires only a couple of hours to have everything set up.

What Your App’s Presentation Website Should Look Like

One of the great things about using a website to present your app is the lack of constraints on how you present it.

You don’t have to ramble on, but you’re not constrained to a 100-word or 600-character description either. Plus, you can employ video, parallax, or other attention-getting techniques and effects.

There are however, a few “must do” considerations you need to take into account.

  • Responsive Design – As far as mobile marketing is concerned; we are long past the “tipping point.” Most of your potential customers do their searching and shopping on mobile devices, which your presentation website must be able to accommodate. When you are thinking of marketing or a new direction like text message marketing, it’s time to start thinking in terms of responsive, mobile
  • Simple Structure – Since you will be targeting mobile customers with an effective digital marketing strategy, your website’s structure needs to be extremely user-friendly. This means your presentation has to be clear, well structured, and never cluttered or complicated in terms of content and navigation.

Look at the Be Theme’s Be App2 home page. A presentation home page doesn’t get more elegant than that. It will draw visitors in, and it has a clear cut call to action. As for a landing page, most mobile users tend to use a vertical display, most of the time.

  • Icons and Subtle Effects – Design isn’t separate from communicating. In the world of the web, design is all about communicating, which is why icons and subtle effects can play such a critical role. Viewers scan a page until they come across something that catches their attention.

You can use icons to draw users to informative content, or to make content less intimidating. Use visuals in place of lengthy columns of text that no one will read anyway.

  • Pageless Design – Have you ever noticed that web pages are becoming archaic? Maybe not for most websites – at least not yet, but for mobile app presentation purposes, a one page website is the way to go.

Users love the concept. A one pager requires fewer clicks, less scanning, does a better job of telling a story, and tends to be more readable. Add it all together and you get improved conversion rates.

None of this is hard. It’s simply a smarter way to go. If you’ve never used a platform like Be App2 before, it’s a matter of try it – you’ll like it. You’ll like the results it gives too.

The most important elements for a presentation website involve responsiveness, a clean and simple design, and a clever use of icons and subtle effects.

A one page website is also recommended as the best way to provide an excellent user experience. If it takes several pages to describe your mobile app, viewers will leave before they ever reach your call to action!
